Get ready for a blast from the past! The iconic romance simulation game "Sentimental Graffiti" (センチメンタルグラフティ), originally released in 1998, is officially getting a remake! Publisher Entergram announced today (June 28) the upcoming "Sentimental Graffiti Remake" (センチメンタルグラフティ リメイク), launching a teaser website alongside the news. While the release date and platforms are still under wraps, the company promises more details will drop soon.

When "Sentimental Graffiti" first hit SEGA Saturn, PlayStation, and PC, it quickly captivated a massive fanbase with its unique "journey" concept, where players met and romanced 12 different heroines. Its popularity even led to a TV anime adaptation in record time. Back in the heyday of romance sims, it was hailed as a classic, often mentioned in the same breath as "Tokimeki Memorial."

While the remake will feature subtle adjustments to some story elements to better fit modern sensibilities, the official word is clear: the overall narrative structure will stay as true to the original as possible, and character designs will be fully preserved without major overhauls.
So, while the story and characters remain untouched, the presentation is getting a total glow-up! Expect all-new character illustrations, completely revamped background art, 16:9 widescreen support, a fully updated game system, and a redesigned UI. This classic romance game is being brought up to speed to meet the expectations of today's players.

The official team has also revealed the voice cast for six of the heroines. Given that nearly three decades have passed since the original, a new generation of voice actors is stepping up. Interestingly, much like the original game where these six roles were voiced by talent from the same agency, the remake continues this tradition with a single agency handling the new cast.
Here’s the confirmed voice cast so far:
Miku Tachibana as Honoka Sawatari
Tsubaki Makino as Emiru Nagakura
Koharu Miyazawa as Wakana Ayasaki
Moeka Hinata as Kaho Morii
Kokona Natsume as Manami Sugihara
Kanata Aikawa as Chie Matsuoka

The remaining six heroines will be cast through an open audition, including:
Taeko Adachi
Asuka Hoshino
Miyuki Hosaka
Rurika Yamamoto
Akira Endo
Yu Nanase
The open audition period runs from June 28 to July 31, and it's open to both professional voice actors and the general public.

All the juicy details for "Sentimental Graffiti Remake"—including game content, release date, and supported platforms—are still under wraps. Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on the official website and Entergram's official X (formerly Twitter) for continuous updates.
It's incredible to see such a classic romance sim getting a remake after nearly 30 years! For veteran players, this is bound to be a huge wave of nostalgia. The big question now is whether this remake can recapture that original magic and emotional impact.
