Some actors embody roles so iconic that even when a franchise is rebooted, the original performer is often brought back. J.K. Simmons' portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief of The Daily Bugle in the Tobey Maguire "Spider-Man" series, is a prime example. Simmons continued to play the character even in the Tom Holland iteration of the "Spider-Man" films.

This naturally led fans to wonder if Simmons, having appeared in the second and third installments of the Holland-led series, would also return for the upcoming "Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day." Addressing these questions in a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Simmons finally responded: "I'm not in it, man. I don't know who's spreading that rumor online, but I'm absolutely not in it."
While some fans might be disappointed by this answer, it's possible Simmons is either keeping his role under wraps or there simply isn't enough narrative space for his character in the new film. Regardless, the truth will be revealed when the movie premieres.
