Marvel Studios is actively casting for its highly anticipated "X-Men" reboot. Just days after reports surfaced that Adam Driver had been selected as the new Magneto, news is now breaking regarding the frontrunners for the pivotal role of Professor X.
According to prominent entertainment scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård, known for his chilling portrayal of Pennywise in the "It" franchise, is reportedly in talks to take on Professor X. MyTimeToShineHello was also among the first to report the recent Magneto casting buzz.

However, Skarsgård isn't the only name in contention. Another outlet, Knight Edge Media, reports that Patrick Wilson, who played Ocean Master in DC's "Aquaman" films, is also a strong candidate for the role. Rumors surrounding Wilson's potential casting as Professor X have reportedly been circulating for several weeks, suggesting a higher likelihood.
Should Wilson, an American actor, secure the role, it would mark a return to Professor X's original American background as depicted in the comic books. Previous cinematic iterations of the character, portrayed by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy, famously presented him as British.
