Japanese toy company MEDICOS has officially unveiled the latest addition to its popular Super Action Statue line of poseable figures: the "Jotaro Kujo Ver.2" from "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders"! The figure is priced at 19,800 JPY and is scheduled for release in February 2027.
The story of "Stardust Crusaders" begins a century after the fateful battle between Jonathan Joestar and his nemesis, DIO. When DIO is unexpectedly resurrected from the depths of the Atlantic, Jonathan's descendant, Jotaro Kujo, awakens to his own latent Stand abilities. To save his mother, Holly, whose life is endangered by DIO's reawakening, Jotaro embarks on a perilous journey to Egypt with his grandfather Joseph, Noriaki Kakyoin, and Muhammad Avdol to defeat the immortal villain once and for all.
Since the original figure's debut in 2009, subsequent re-releases and color variations of the Stardust Crusaders Jotaro have utilized the Ver.1.5 sculpt from 2012, with the exception of the 2018 Super Action Statue BIG version. Now, after 14 long years, fans are finally getting an all-new sculpt! This Ver.2 Jotaro stands approximately 15.5 cm tall and features a completely re-engineered prototype based on his appearance in the manga and anime. The overall lines are sharper and more defined than the Ver.1.5, and the previously visible neck joint now appears to be seamlessly integrated. Looking down from above, you can even spot the iconic star-shaped Joestar birthmark on his left shoulder!
The folds on his long, flowing coat are now more refined, and the overall color palette has been toned down with a more muted, low-saturation finish, giving him a calmer, more imposing presence. It appears the hem of the coat now utilizes a double ball-joint system, replacing the previous hinge joints, while the gaps at the knee joints have also been significantly reduced. These upgrades bring the figure closer to the Super Action Statue series' core philosophy of maximizing articulation without sacrificing an impeccable sculpt. Accessories include five pairs of interchangeable hands and an alternate head with a gritted-teeth expression. Most excitingly, the set comes with "Ora Ora" barrage effect parts depicting the blurred motion of Star Platinum's fists, allowing you to recreate his signature attack! Furthermore, he is designed to be displayed with the simultaneously re-released Star Platinum Third Color version, allowing you to capture the full, dynamic power of Jotaro in battle!
