Toy brand bid Toys has teamed up with JXK Studio, renowned for its realistic animal sculptures, to release the "Damo Lucky Cat" resin collectible figures. These charming pieces combine plump cats with rice cooker-shaped shells, available in four delightful styles: gray-white, white, orange, and tabby cats. Each figure is priced at NT$940.
The inspiration for this collection comes from the everyday sight of cats squeezing into various containers. Here, the felines are nestled inside a rice cooker, with only their heads and front paws peeking out. At first glance, they cleverly resemble Maneki-Neko Daruma figures, but with a unique feline twist. The four styles meticulously reproduce different fur colors and facial patterns, retaining JXK's signature detailed sculpting of fur, eyes, and paw pads, all while capturing the cats' adorable, nonchalant, and lazy expressions.
One of the most engaging design features is the detachable structure of the cat figures and rice cooker shells. The four cat figures and four rice cooker designs are not fixed pairings, allowing collectors to mix and match as they please, creating various combinations of fur patterns and rice cooker colors. The series includes gray-white, white, orange, and tabby cats, so collectors can even choose a figure that matches their own beloved pet's fur color. This clever concept transforms the cats' natural inclination to hide in boxes into a lucky charm motif, combining realistic sculpting details with a heartwarming observation of everyday life. For cat lovers and animal figure collectors alike, these are truly relatable desk accessories.
