BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS collectible division has unveiled the latest release in its GUNDAM UNIVERSE line of fully articulated 6-inch action figures designed for Mobile Suit Gundam fans worldwide. The new "XARX-0 GUNDAM ZERO" from the upcoming anime "Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO" is scheduled for release in April 2027.
The new anime "Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO" is part of the next-generation Gundam initiative known as the "RG project." It shares its universe with the upcoming 2027 game "GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT," with the anime taking place roughly 100 years before the game. Humanity enters an age of unprecedented prosperity after obtaining the Three revelations from a mysterious object that arrived from beyond the solar system: Gravity Control, FTL Communication, and Cognitive Materialization. These technologies allow civilization to expand across the entire solar system. The object suddenly runs rampant, however, activating a self-replication system and spawning highly aggressive silicon-based lifeforms. Humanity comes to see this unknown ecosystem as the "Apocalypse."
After three months of fighting, the conflict reaches a stalemate in Earth’s orbit. Humanity is forced to abandon the planet and relocate to the Moon and space colonies, marking that year as A.A. 1—the first year After Apocalypse. By A.A. 45, living under the constant threat of the Apocalypse has become the new normal. On the lunar surface, a boy named Ray Azumi (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) awakens. A war orphan who lost both parents in an Apocalypse attack, Ray becomes the designated pilot of the XARX-0 Gundam ZERO, a state-of-the-art experimental mobile suit developed to combat the threat.
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE XARX-0 GUNDAM ZERO" stands approximately 6 inches (15 cm) tall, matching the standard scale of the series. While based on the original anime design, the figure filters the mobile suit through GUNDAM UNIVERSE’s signature style, introducing revised armor details and more muscular proportions. The result gives the mecha designed by Eiichi Shimizu a noticeably bulkier, more powerful silhouette.
The figure uses the fully redesigned UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME introduced across the line in 2025, allowing collectors to recreate dynamic combat poses inspired by the anime. Accessories include a dedicated backpack, two beam rifles, two beam sabers, two shields, and three pairs of interchangeable hands. The equipment can be swapped at any time to reproduce a variety of battle configurations from the series.
