Japanese figure company MEDICOS has announced a new "Chiharu & Makina" non-scale pre-painted figure from the anime series "Milky☆Subway," slated for release in June 2027!
First streamed in multiple languages on YouTube in July 2025, the highly anticipated "Milky☆Subway" is an original 3D animation entirely helmed by independent animator Yohei Kameyama, who handled everything from direction and scriptwriting to design and production. Serving as a continuation of his acclaimed graduation project, "Milky☆Highway," each three-and-a-half-minute episode follows enhanced human Chiharu and cyborg Makina – both previously involved in speeding incidents – as they, along with four other distinct criminals, are assigned community service cleaning abandoned trains. However, a space train that should have remained decommissioned inexplicably departs its platform and hurtles into the cosmos, kicking off a thrilling galactic journey!
The "Chiharu & Makina Non-Scale Pre-Painted Figure" stands approximately 18 cm tall and is conceptualized around the anime's final episode. It depicts the duo seated side-by-side, with Makina flashing a victory sign with one hand while holding the badge gifted by Officer Ryoko in the other, and Chiharu leaning playfully against her. Both protagonists are meticulously recreated with exquisite sculpting and paintwork, capturing their animated charm. Their distinct streaked hairstyles are faithfully reproduced, and a combination of matte and metallic paints differentiates the textures of their metallic parts and skin. The details extend even further: beneath them lie two damaged drone guards, "Haise-kun," and the mastermind behind the series' events, "O.T.A.M." All three are rendered with impressive battle-damaged aesthetics. The screens on the drones display the silhouettes of their four companions—Akane, Tetto, Cote, and Max—while surrounding accessories include a "cool poster" used for defense and the Ginkyo Prefectural Police mascot. This richly detailed scene encapsulates nearly all the core elements of the series, making it a must-have for fans!
