BANDAI's candy toy division, BANDAI CANDY, is bringing two legendary rivals back to the FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE line with a new Mobile Suit Gundam SEED release: Freedom Gundam & Providence Gundam. This updated edition repaints the SP07 two-pack originally released in 2016, giving both mobile suits darker color schemes, metallic finishes, and newly added unit markings. The set recreates the machines piloted by Kira Yamato and Rau Le Creuset during the anime's climactic final battle. Preorders open October 30, 2026, with an MSRP of 6,996 yen including tax and shipping scheduled for March 2027.
As previously covered, the original “FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SP07 Freedom Gundam & Providence Gundam” two-pack debuted in 2016. For this new edition, Freedom Gundam features additional model numbers and unit markings across its body. The white armor now has a darker, subtle blue tint, paired with deeper blue components, glossy gunmetal joints, and a gold V-fin. Even the deployed wings on its backpack have received new markings. The figure also includes the Ambidextrous Halberd, along with interchangeable left and right wing-base parts for deploying the backpack-mounted M100 “Balaena” Plasma Beam Cannons, allowing collectors to recreate Freedom Gundam's fully armed appearance from the final battle.
Providence Gundam receives model numbers and ZAFT insignias across its body, plus additional markings on its massive backpack-mounted DRAGOON platform. Its joints are finished in glossy gunmetal, while metallic colors highlight the head visor and abdominal cables. Even the handheld MA-M221 “Judicium” Beam Rifle gets a metallic finish, adding extra depth to the mobile suit's already intricate gray mechanical design. The set also includes individual display support parts for both figures, letting collectors pose Freedom Gundam and Providence Gundam side by side and relive Mobile Suit Gundam SEED's fierce final showdown between two destined rivals.
