Renowned Japanese figure manufacturer Kaiyodo is set to release the "Hatsune Miku Kingyo Ver." 1/7 scale figure, based on the "Hatsune Miku" series. Priced at 44,000 JPY (tax included), the figure is scheduled for release in June 2027, with pre-orders beginning on September 8, 2026.
The original illustration for the "Hatsune Miku Kingyo Ver." was commissioned by Kaiyodo and created by artists Hanasa (@Hanasa_Criin) and ATDan (@Atdan86). This stunning piece, themed around the goldfish as a symbol of good fortune, depicts Miku standing on a giant lotus leaf. Her warm-toned, ornate attire, infused with traditional Chinese elements, and her signature twin tails float mid-air, surrounded by two massive goldfish. The scene exudes a dreamlike quality, blurring the lines between being above or beneath the water's surface.
Standing approximately 36cm tall, this figure perfectly captures the ethereal flow of the original artwork. Miku's outfit, rich with lotus and goldfish motifs, combined with her iconic cool-toned long hair, masterfully conveys a sense of weightlessness. The design achieves a harmonious balance in its overall composition. The intricate goldfish patterns on her sleeves are meticulously reproduced using tampo printing. Her eyes, rendered with 12-color silk screen printing, brilliantly recreate their sparkling, ornate appearance. Furthermore, the tips of her hair, the fish-tail-like skirt hem, flowing ribbons, and the goldfish fins are all crafted from translucent parts, with the fins further enhanced by a pearlescent coating to amplify their dreamlike quality. The development of the "Hatsune Miku Kingyo Ver." was first announced at Shanghai Wonder Festival (WF2024) in 2024, with painted prototypes revealed last year. Fans of Hatsune Miku have undoubtedly been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this "Goldfish Princess"!
