The Pokémon Company’s Revenue Has Grown Roughly 4.4-Fold in Five Years; Net Profit Is Up About 13.6-Fold in Eight Years

As the Pokémon franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, new events, projects, and collaborations continue to roll out. Japanese outlet Denfaminicogamer recently reported that The Pokémon Company saw its revenue grow roughly 4.4-fold across the latest six fiscal years, from about ¥120 billion in the fiscal year ended February 2021 to ¥531.428 billion in the fiscal year ended February 2026.

Net profit rose even more dramatically, climbing about 13.6-fold over eight years—from roughly ¥8.8 billion in the fiscal year ended February 2018 to about ¥120 billion in the fiscal year ended February 2026. The figures underline both the enduring strength of the Pokémon IP and the scale of the company’s operations.

These figures were compiled from a “Financial Results Notice” listed on PR TIMES’ financial-information site. Because The Pokémon Company is privately held, it does not publish securities reports.

The public records cover nine fiscal years, from the fiscal year ended February 2018 through the fiscal year ended February 2026. Revenue figures are available only for the six fiscal years from FY2021 onward; the preceding three years list only items such as net profit, shareholders’ equity, total liabilities, and retained earnings.

Among the six fiscal years for which revenue was disclosed, the most notable increases came in FY2022, up 70.1% year on year, and FY2025, up 38.1%.

FY2025 was also the fiscal year in which the mobile game Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket launched on October 30, 2024. In the latest fiscal year, FY2026, revenue rose 29.3% year on year to ¥531.428 billion—roughly 4.4 times its FY2021 level.

One particularly striking year for net-profit growth was FY2022. Net profit rose from ¥18.63 billion in the previous fiscal year to ¥41.392 billion, an increase of 122.2% year on year.

That fiscal year also saw the releases of two Pokémon games: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl on November 19, 2021, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus on January 28, 2022.

Another major jump came in the latest fiscal year, FY2026. Net profit rose from ¥70.343 billion in the previous year to ¥120.056 billion, up 70.7% year on year. The period also saw the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on October 16, 2025, as well as the February 5, 2026 opening of Pokémon’s first permanent outdoor facility, PokéPark KANTO.

The Pokémon Company was established in April 1998 through joint investment by Nintendo, Creatures, and GAME FREAK. Each of the three companies is responsible for a different area:

GAME FREAK: Original planning for the Pokémon series and video game development.

Creatures: Development of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, as well as CG model and motion production.

Nintendo: Manufacturing and sales of video games.

The Pokémon Company, meanwhile, manages the associated rights, licensing, and the brand’s overall management.

These numbers show how The Pokémon Company’s business has expanded alongside Pokémon’s growing global presence in recent years. As the franchise marks its 30th anniversary, its next chapter will be one to watch.
