Emerging Chinese action figure brand SexyIce has unveiled the latest release from its original sci-fi series, "VERMIN": the "Daedalus Project Experimental Subject B0200 Acridid" 1/12 action figure. Priced at RMB 598, the figure is scheduled for release in Q1 2027.
The "Daedalus Project Experimental Subject B0200 Acridid" originated from the remains of a long-lost experiment conducted by the Artificial Evolution Research Institute. Spinal tissue from a dying pilot involved in the "Sufferer Project" was implanted into an acridid, creating a consciousness model that replicated the pilot’s behavior in life. After being fused with two additional pilots, the resulting creature gained three alternating consciousnesses. By rotating between them, this bioengineered special operations soldier can remain combat-ready almost around the clock.
Standing approximately 7.1 inches tall, the "B0200 Acridid" action figure sports a lean, muscular build that blends the organic anatomy of an insectoid cyborg with artificial tactical equipment. The layered biological and mechanical design gives it a distinctive look that sets it apart from previous VERMIN releases. Combined with SexyIce’s signature articulation, the figure can pull off a wide range of complex, dynamic poses worthy of a bioengineered super-soldier.
The accessory loadout starts with masks representing three modes—A, B, and C—with two different C-mode designs for five total head configurations, including the one installed on the figure. Six pairs of interchangeable hands are also included. Its massive arsenal features one M12S pump-action shotgun, two G40F fragmentation grenades, two M9 semi-automatic pistols, one K9K compact submachine gun, two Jack the Ripper sickle-blade weapon sets, two pistol magazines, three submachine gun magazines, and an assortment of weapon racks. The gear can be mounted across the figure’s back, waist, and thighs, while the dedicated VERMIN display stand supports even more dramatic poses. Pair B0200 with previous VERMIN characters to expand the series’ original sci-fi universe.
The sculptor behind the figure has also shared several design sketches on social media, offering a closer look at the pop-culture influences behind the three masks, the original Acridid concept, and the 3D modeling process.
