Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS and its TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles division have announced a new release in the popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line. The Haruka Todo & Graviton Engine set from the original anime "Vertex Force" is scheduled for release in March 2027.
"Vertex Force" is an original sci-fi mecha anime from Kazuhiro Takamura, who once again serves as both director and character designer following "Strike Witches" and "Vividred Operation." Set on an Earth thrown into chaos after the Power Down causes electronic systems worldwide to malfunction, the story centers on Haruka Todo, a high school student who runs a café in Okinawa with her mother and younger brother. Haruka inherited the power to control a humanoid mechanical weapon known as an Engine from her extraterrestrial father. As Power Down incidents spread and invaders strike around the globe, young heroes burdened by destiny rise to fight.
The S.H.Figuarts Haruka Todo & Graviton Engine set includes a fully articulated Haruka Todo figure standing approximately 5.5 inches tall, along with a large Graviton Engine model kit measuring about 9 inches tall once assembled. Detailed sculpting, colorful paint applications, and printed patterns recreate Haruka's cute, sporty outfit from the anime. She also comes with three interchangeable face parts capturing her cheerful personality, multiple interchangeable hands, a smartphone, and other accessories. Her extensive articulation allows collectors to recreate a variety of dynamic battle poses from the series.
The large Graviton Engine model kit uses gray, blue, fluorescent green, and clear blue molded parts, along with select pre-painted components and stickers. Its intricate mechanical frame, individual components, and bulky outer armor are faithfully reproduced, while articulated joints in the main torso and massive arms allow it to wield the imposing Graviton Hammer. The included display stand supports the model for recreating action-packed battle scenes from the anime.
