BANDAI’s Gashapon brand has officially unveiled the latest release in its popular ULTIMATE LUMINOUS series, built around the concept of ultimate sculpting and ultimate illumination. Based on Toei’s tokusatsu series "Kamen Rider Kabuto," the new Kamen Rider Kabuto set is scheduled for release in February 2027.
In "Kamen Rider Kabuto," the organization ZECT develops the Masked Rider System to combat the extraterrestrial Worms. Each system is powered by an insect-themed core machine known as a Zecter. Protagonist Souji Tendo is chosen by the first system’s Kabuto Zecter, granting him the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Kabuto. The system dramatically enhances his strength, speed, senses, and other physical abilities, while the exceptional combat skills he developed over seven years of training make him an overwhelmingly powerful fighter.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of "Kamen Rider Kabuto," ULTIMATE LUMINOUS Kamen Rider Kabuto includes Kamen Rider Kabuto and Kamen Rider Gatack, the respective Rider forms of the series’ two central heroes, Souji Tendo and Arata Kagami. Each non-articulated figure stands approximately 14 cm tall and faithfully recreates the proportions and appearance of its on-screen suit. High-quality paint applications capture details including the textured black undersuits, metallic armor finishes, and patterned compound eyes.
Kamen Rider Kabuto also comes with two interchangeable right-arm parts, allowing collectors to recreate his standard standing pose with both arms at his sides, his signature sky-pointing pose while declaring, "Grandmother once said...," and the moment he operates the Zecter before unleashing his finishing move. Kamen Rider Gatack includes an interchangeable pair of arms for recreating a ready-for-battle stance or a combat pose with his twin shoulder-mounted swords drawn. Dedicated display bases let both heroes stand together in a striking two-Rider display.
Both Riders feature LED illumination in their compound eyes and belt-mounted Zecters. Once the LED units are installed, the figures can recreate their illuminated appearance immediately after Cast Off or just before executing the Rider Kick. The set also comes in a specially designed presentation box featuring original close-up artwork of Kabuto and Gatack.
