FuRyu's high-end figure brand F:NEX has announced its latest release based on a popular virtual Liver from NIJISANJI. The "Debidebi Debiru 1/2 Scale Soft Vinyl Figure" is scheduled for release in September 2027.
Debuting in 2018, Debidebi Debiru was NIJISANJI's first nonhuman Liver. This otherworldly demon stands roughly 50 centimeters tall and sports horns, wings, and a long tail. Although Debidebi Debiru's stated mission is to earn humanity's worship and corrupt the entire human race, that harmless little-animal appearance and adorable voice have led fellow Livers and fans to treat the demon more like a koala. Getting picked on and doted on during collaborations has even become one of Debidebi Debiru's signature bits. More terrifying than the demonic identity, however, is a serious love of alcohol. Drunken streams can quickly go off the rails, earning Debidebi Debiru the affectionate nickname "drunk koala."
Standing approximately 26 centimeters tall, the "Debidebi Debiru 1/2 Scale Soft Vinyl Figure" recreates the character design by illustrator Makihitsuji. F:NEX's original pose seats Debidebi Debiru neatly on the ground, head tilted upward to gaze at the collector with devastating cuteness. The sculpt conveys a fluffy appearance from every angle, while the wings and tail rest gently against the floor as if a friendly little creature were waiting for a pat on the head.
Based closely on the original design sheets, the sculpt faithfully captures Debidebi Debiru's curved horns, soft little wings, long tail, and other demonic features. At the same time, the fur around the ears, cheeks, and neck has been carefully shaped to evoke the fluffy coat of a real animal. Detailed paintwork across the body recreates the changing colors, highlights, and shadows of the fur, along with defining elements such as the eyebrows and demonic markings. The jewel on the chest uses gradient and metallic finishes to simulate a translucent glow.
When the figure was first announced, F:NEX planned to give it a full-body flocked finish similar to the "Lunlun 1/2 Scale Flocked Soft Vinyl Figure." After several rounds of discussion, however, the team ultimately dropped the flocking in favor of a finish that more faithfully reproduces the original design and improves the overall quality of the final product.
