stasto Ao Oni Dress-Up Collection Capsule Toys Hide the Horror Icon in Sea Creature Costumes

Japanese capsule toy brand stasto is giving the hit horror game "Ao Oni" a bizarre aquatic makeover with its new Ao Oni Dress-Up Collection. The terrifying purple monster that once sent players scrambling for safety now comes disguised in shark, octopus, and stingray costumes, with its unmistakable oversized face peeking through each opening. The removable outer costumes also reveal the Ao Oni figure hidden inside. The collection features six designs, priced at 400 yen per capsule, including tax, and is scheduled for release in February 2027.

The lineup includes Shark Ao Oni, Octopus Ao Oni, and Stingray Ao Oni, each available in standard and clear versions. The shark opens its enormous mouth to reveal rows of sharp teeth, while the octopus wraps Ao Oni in a plump, rounded body. The stingray hides that unsettling purple face right in the middle of its flat body—and from behind, it almost passes for a real sea creature. The monster that once relentlessly chased players through the game has apparently taken up cosplay, and not even escaping into the ocean will keep you safe!
