BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS collectible division has officially unveiled three new Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope releases for S.H.Figuarts’ movie-focused CineToy TAMASHII series! First up is the Luke Skywalker -Movie Poster Color Ver.- action figure, priced at 9,900 yen and scheduled for release in April 2027.
The movie that started it all, 1977’s Star Wars—later retitled Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope—follows the Galactic Empire’s construction of the Death Star, a devastating planet-killing weapon. After farm boy Luke Skywalker unexpectedly acquires the station’s stolen plans, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi introduces him to the Force. Luke then joins forces with smuggler Han Solo and Princess Leia on a daring mission to destroy the Death Star and strike back against the Empire’s tyranny.
Standing approximately 15 cm tall, Luke Skywalker -Movie Poster Color Ver.- partially reuses the sculpt from the earlier release. Its new color scheme draws inspiration from the classic Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope theatrical poster, featuring Leia in the foreground, Luke raising his lightsaber overhead, and Darth Vader looming in the darkness behind them. The face has been completely redesigned with Tamashii Digital Coloring Technology to better capture Mark Hamill’s youthful, handsome likeness. Luke’s costume recreates the poster artwork’s pristine white appearance, while his belt receives a futuristic metallic silver finish.
Accessories include two pairs of interchangeable hands, an alternate expression part, an ignited lightsaber, and a lightsaber hilt that can be attached to Luke’s belt. The figure maintains a natural silhouette while offering plenty of articulation for dynamic posing. Display it alongside the newly announced Princess Leia Organa -Movie Poster Color Ver.- and Darth Vader -Movie Poster Color Ver.- figures to recreate the poster’s striking visual style!
