You Dare Defy...? METAL ROBOT Damashii Gundam Bael from "Iron-Blooded Orphans" Unleashed This December!

BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's division has officially announced the long-awaited "Gundam Bael" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" as the latest addition to its METAL ROBOT Damashii line, featuring metallic paint finishes and die-cast frames. The figure is slated for a December 2021 release.

The ASW-G-01 Gundam Bael is one of the Gundam Frame mobile suits constructed during the "Calamity War" 300 years prior. Named after the chief of the 72 demons of Solomon, it was famously piloted by Agnika Kaieru, the founder of Gjallarhorn, leading them to victory. After the war, Bael was sealed away and became a revered symbol of ultimate power within Gjallarhorn, with some even believing Agnika's soul resided within it, effectively deifying the mobile suit. It was widely thought that whoever claimed Bael would stand at the apex of Gjallarhorn.

Equipped with large variable thruster wings on its back, Gundam Bael excels in high-speed close-quarters combat using its twin swords against Mobile Armors. Even 300 years later, its specifications remain top-tier. However, beyond its raw performance, Bael's symbolic significance is paramount; it lacks specialized weaponry designed for combat against other Mobile Suits. McGillis Fareed, who sought to reform Gjallarhorn, suffered a devastating defeat in his first battle with Bael against the Gundam Kimaris Vidar, which incorporated modern technology.

The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Gundam Bael" is supervised by mechanical designer Naohiro Washio. Its main joints are constructed with a significant amount of die-cast metal, while the overall figure boasts a robust matte finish, precise body markings, and electroplated frame parts, all contributing to a strong mechanical aesthetic. The highly flexible joint design allows for dynamic and powerful posing, perfectly capturing Gundam Bael's imposing and iconic presence.

Regarding its armaments, the thruster wings on its back feature four movable sections on both the left and right sides, with the smaller black thrusters also independently articulated. The "Bael Swords" come in two different sizes, totaling four blades, allowing for powerful, perspective-driven action scenes. Additionally, the product includes a dedicated display stand and effect parts to recreate iconic moments, such as the scene from Episode 45 where Bael raises its sword to command all, and its eye beam effects during combat.

Furthermore, TAMASHII NATIONS has announced that a productization plan for the "Gundam Kimaris Vidar," which engaged in a fierce deathmatch with Gundam Bael in the series, is currently underway. Stay tuned for more details!
