The allure of the yukata! Emerging Japanese figure brand BeBOX is set to release a new 1/7 scale figure of Chizuru Mizuhara, the beloved heroine from the popular romance anime and manga series "Rent-A-Girlfriend", dressed in a traditional yukata! The figure is scheduled for an April 2022 release and will be distributed by the renowned platform AmiAmi.
"Rent-A-Girlfriend" (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is a romantic comedy manga series created by Reiji Miyajima, which began serialization in Japan's "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in 2017. An anime adaptation was announced in December 2019, with its first 12-episode season airing in July 2020. A second season was confirmed on September 26th. The story follows protagonist Kazuya Kinoshita, who, heartbroken after breaking up with his girlfriend Mami after just one month, decides to use an online "rental girlfriend" service. To his surprise, the girl who appears is the stunningly beautiful Chizuru Mizuhara. A series of coincidences soon leads them into a complicated web of seemingly ambiguous interactions and connections.
Chizuru Mizuhara, whose real name is Chizuru Ichinose, uses a pseudonym and maintains a low profile to prevent her part-time job as a rental girlfriend from being exposed. While portraying a beautiful, gentle, and graceful girlfriend, she actually possesses a strong personality, often feeling lonely and helpless, yet she always tries to hide these vulnerabilities behind a facade of strength. After meeting the protagonist and experiencing various interactions, including dates, filming a short movie, and dealing with the passing of a loved one, their relationship has become increasingly ambiguous. She is currently entangled in a complex dynamic with other characters like Ruka Sarashina and Mami Nanami.
This BeBOX-developed Chizuru Mizuhara Yukata figure is sculpted in 1/7 scale, featuring a unique kneeling pose that sets it apart from most standing figures. It also includes a charming inn room diorama base with a futon, along with interchangeable face and hand parts. These accessories allow collectors to display her in a variety of alluring and heartwarming poses, making for a truly atmospheric collectible!
