Bandai's popular handheld digital pet game, Tamagotchi, today announced exciting new products from the sci-fi epic "Star Wars." The iconic droid "R2-D2," who serves as mascot, savior's right-hand man, and best helper for the Rebellion, makes his debut! Both a Classic Color version and a Holographic version will be released simultaneously, with an expected launch in November 2021.
Let's take a closer look at the R2-D2 Tamagotchi's design. Its approximately 4 cm tall, rounded shell features R2-D2's intricate mechanical details, with the "R2-D2" logo printed below the electronic screen. The Holographic version's translucent shell offers a particularly futuristic, high-tech feel! Gameplay focuses on raising R2-D2; collectors will need to carefully care for him by cleaning and charging him. Beyond raising him to unlock "Skill Mode" and "Special Skill Mode" with various functions, there's also a "Pilot Mode" that offers more visual variations.
Players can enjoy two permanent mini-games with R2-D2: "Firefighting" and "Dejarik Holochess." Additionally, there are seven other mini-games that change based on R2-D2's skills, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the Star Wars universe. What's more, a total of 14 popular characters will periodically appear during the nurturing process – it makes you really want to raise one!
