The Bikini Warriors are back! Japan's Max Factory is set to re-release a new iteration of their original character, Makoto, from the highly acclaimed "figma" action figure series. This latest product, the "Bikini Armor Makoto: Veteran Version," is slated for a May 2022 release.
In the fantastical RPG worlds created in games and manga, various character classes often sport diverse and imaginative outfits. Occasionally, designs that subvert traditional stereotypes capture significant attention. As the popular gaming adage goes: "The less fabric, the higher the defense."
This new figma Bikini Armor Makoto: Veteran Version retains the original character Makoto's facial sculpt but features a striking change from black hair to blonde. It still includes two interchangeable face plates: a standard smiling expression and a fierce gritted-teeth look. She comes equipped with a greatsword, a shield, and corresponding interchangeable hand parts. The color scheme sees a significant overhaul; the bikini itself changes from red to a vibrant blue, while the arm and leg armor, greatsword hilt, and shield are now rendered in metallic blue instead of iron gray. An additional metallic blue cape further enhances her cool and imposing presence.
As this is an original figma character produced to standard specifications, Makoto's head can be swapped with other figma characters. Furthermore, her face plates are compatible with those of another original character, Emily.
It's worth noting that figma also offers separate cape accessories in various colors, which collectors can purchase to complement other similar figures.
