The tragic tale of a Vietnam War veteran! Hong Kong-based toy brand threezero, renowned for its extensive range of character figures from movies and TV series, is set to release a 1/6 scale articulated figure of John Rambo, the protagonist portrayed by Sylvester Stallone in the classic film "First Blood," in the first quarter of 2022.
Released in 1982, "First Blood" is an adaptation of the 1972 novel of the same name by author David Morrell. The original novel's plot was notably violent and dark, making it challenging to find actors willing to star in the film adaptation initially. However, Sylvester Stallone, famous for his role in "Rocky," decided to take on the character of Rambo after reading the script. Following modifications to the novel's story, the film received positive reviews, and Stallone successfully established Rambo's iconic image.
The original "First Blood" film depicts Rambo as a Vietnam War veteran who returns home to visit a comrade, only to discover his friend has passed away. Overwhelmed by a profound sense of loss, Rambo is then targeted by a local sheriff who, with a prejudiced gaze, deems him a suspicious individual. This leads to Rambo enduring a series of baseless accusations, brutal interrogations, and relentless pursuit, indirectly causing multiple casualties and public panic. Ultimately, his former commanding officer intervenes, allowing Rambo to finally unleash his pent-up emotions, articulating the psychological trauma, immense pressure, and societal injustice he faced. The film concludes with Rambo surrendering to his former officer.
This threezero Rambo figure is based on his appearance in the first film, capturing the melancholic look of a disillusioned veteran. His attire faithfully replicates the iconic outfit from "First Blood." Accessories include his signature Rambo knife, a long wooden stick that the knife can be attached to, an assault rifle, a machine gun, and a wearable ammunition belt. The figure also comes with four sets of interchangeable hands and his distinctive poncho. With excellent articulation, the overall package is rich in detail and highly realistic.
