Following their releases of Endor-themed versions of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and the incredibly cute Ewok scout Wicket, Hong Kong toy maker Hot Toys has just announced its latest creation from "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi": the Scout Trooper! This article covers the MMS612 Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike collectible set, slated for release between Q3 and Q4 2022.
Scout Troopers serve as the reconnaissance soldiers for the Galactic Empire. Compared to other stormtrooper variants, Scout Troopers are typically lightly armored and often pilot the 74-Z Speeder Bike, functioning as a highly mobile cavalry unit. In "Return of the Jedi," these troopers had to navigate the dense forests of the moon of Endor at incredible speeds. Their helmets are equipped with advanced technology to enhance their field of vision, helping them to safely execute patrol and recon missions at high velocity.
The Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike set not only includes all the contents of the MMS611 Scout Trooper standalone release but also adds the 1/6 scale Speeder Bike vehicle. Measuring an impressive 52.5 cm in length, the bike faithfully reproduces details like the black frame, intricate mechanical components including the engine, the dark brown hull, and control buttons. The entire vehicle is covered in extensive weathering effects, and the control vanes are adjustable, creating a more dynamic and immersive display when paired with the figure. The display base is designed to evoke the environment of the Endor forest floor.
