Following the 2020 release of "Nendoroid Amaterasu," Japanese figure manufacturer Max Factory today (26th) announced the latest addition to their lineup from Hideki Kamiya's video game masterpiece "Okami": the "Nendoroid Shiranui," slated for a June 2022 release. This product will be available in both a Standard Edition and a more lavish DX Edition.

The protagonist "Amaterasu" is based on Amaterasu-ōmikami from Japanese mythology. A century ago, in the form of the giant white wolf "Shiranui," she fiercely battled and sealed the "Orochi." However, Amaterasu was gravely wounded, losing her physical form, and the powers of the Thirteen Brush Gods scattered across the land. One hundred years later, the Orochi was inexplicably unsealed, threatening to plunge the world into darkness once more. Sakuya, the tree spirit of Kamiki Village, performed a ritual to revive Amaterasu, allowing the deity to descend into the world through a statue of Shiranui built by the villagers. Accompanied by the wandering artist "Issun," Amaterasu embarked on a journey to reclaim the power of the Thirteen Brush Gods, wielding the Three Sacred Treasures—a mirror, a sword, and a magatama—and utilizing her divine "Celestial Brush" techniques to vanquish demons.

The "Nendoroid Shiranui" is supervised by character designer Kenichiro Yoshimura, faithfully recreating the in-game fur and patterns in an adorable Q-version scale of approximately 10 cm tall. While appearing as cute as the previously released Amaterasu, Shiranui is, in the game, a magnificent giant white wolf! The figure features two interchangeable head parts: a dignified "Composed Face" and a charming "Open-Mouth Face." Also included are clear parts for the former preacher "Issun" and the Divine Retribution (Yata Mirror).

The luxurious DX Edition further includes a "Howling Face," along with beautifully painted "Tsumugari (Sword of Kusanagi)" and "Rosary (Yasakani Magatama)" Sacred Treasures, complete with clear effect parts, allowing for even more dynamic battle poses!

Customers who pre-order either the "Nendoroid Shiranui" or "Nendoroid Shiranui DX Ver." from the official GOODSMILE Online Shop will receive a limited bonus: a "Sparrow and Food Bowl"!
