Bandai's Gashapon brand is set to release the latest entry in its "Mobile Suit Gundam" head collectible capsule toy line, the "EXCEED MODEL HEAD" series, with the new "EXCEED MODEL ZETA HEAD" arriving in December 2021. Each capsule is priced at 500 JPY.
Unlike conventional capsule toys, the "EXCEED MODEL" series doesn't come with parts separately packed in a plastic shell. Instead, the entire product forms a spherical shape when dispensed from the Gashapon machine. By disassembling the sphere, collectors get highly detailed and precisely molded head parts that can be easily assembled into a striking Mobile Suit head. Each head features show-accurate colors and markings, along with an impressive deployable gimmick that reveals internal mechanical details, offering a rich amount of intricate features.
Following the release of popular Mobile Suits like the Zaku, Gundam, and Dom, the "EXCEED MODEL HEAD" line is finally moving beyond the One Year War era to feature the protagonist Mobile Suit of its sequel, the "Zeta Gundam," along with its derived units. This exciting new lineup includes the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, MSZ-006-3 Zeta Gundam Unit 3, and MSZ-006A1 Zeta Plus. Each stands approximately 72mm tall, accurately recreating the sharp head designs of the Zeta series Mobile Suits, and even features a retractable head antenna mechanism to simulate transformation.
