Japanese manufacturer Sentinel's new "SV-Action" line of articulated figures, designed to recreate dynamic battle poses from the film, continues its "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" series. Following the releases of Miles Morales and Peter B. Parker, the third installment, "SV-Action Peni Parker & SP//dr," is now making its debut! Priced at 13,750 JPY, it's slated for release in June 2022.
The first animated film in the "Spider-Verse" series, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," centers on Miles Morales, the second Spider-Man from the comic's "Ultimate Universe" (Earth-1610), telling the origin story of how the Brooklyn teenager Miles becomes the superhero Spider-Man. One of the characters featured in the film is Peni Parker, an Japanese-American middle school student from Earth-14512 who pilots the SP//dr mech suit. To combat the Inheritors, Peni and her SP//dr mech join a temporary alliance of Spider-People from various dimensions.
The "SV-Action Peni Parker & SP//dr" set was collaboratively designed by sculptors Yohei Katagiri, Hiroyuki Komatsubara, and Shintaro Takahashi. Peni herself is rendered as an adorable, non-articulated figure, standing approximately 10 cm tall, capturing her playful student look with a winking, peace-sign pose that's incredibly charming. The main event, the SP//dr mech suit, stands an impressive 18 cm tall. Beyond accurately recreating its rounded body and sharp limbs, it features an internal LED light-up function in its head and comes with interchangeable faceplates, allowing for dynamic displays of intense combat or cute, playful selfie poses.
