Hey everyone!
Today, I'm excited to share my latest lucky pull: the A Prize from the newest Gundam Ichiban Kuji – the Masterlise Mechanics Freedom Gundam, which I snagged in just six tries! This marks a long-awaited return for a medium-to-large scale Gundam prize figure, coming in at roughly 1/100 scale. The design is completely new, not a rehash of previous iterations.
Overall, it has a strong Master Grade (MG) vibe (and panel lining it took MG-level time!). It's incredibly cool, though the head sculpt is a tad bit dull. Aside from that, it's fantastic, especially after panel lining. The heavy backpack is still a factor, so it includes a small clear display stand. The plastic feel is decent; while not overly sharp, it boasts a generally smooth, slightly matte finish, reminiscent of the classic Gundam FIX figures. Despite its lack of articulation—no movable wings, cannons, or hands—for a recent Gundam prize figure, its large size, pre-applied decals, and largely color-accurate details make it one of the best in recent years.
