Hey everyone!
Today, we're taking a look at the third S.H.Figuarts release for Ultraman Z himself (counting only his distinct forms) – the highly anticipated Ultraman Z Gamma Future!
The sculpt is quite impressive, with intricate details and textures faithfully reproduced across the figure. The shoulder armor is made of soft PVC, and thankfully, we haven't encountered any paint chipping issues so far. The paint application also exceeds expectations. Despite the complex color separation on this form, there are minimal instances of paint bleed or misalignment (though it's always possible this is just a particularly good Quality Control sample).
When it comes to articulation, this figure leans towards the lower end of the spectrum. Numerous external armor pieces and the overall design significantly impede movement, with the head's range of motion being the most affected. However, despite these limitations, the playability remains quite good, primarily due to the generous assortment of accessories. It comes with the Gamma Illusion Ring, specialized hand parts for his signature gestures, and a sword. Furthermore, its in-universe ability to interact with the Heisei Triumvirate (Ultraman Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia) significantly boosts its overall play value, especially when compared to recent Ultraman S.H.Figuarts releases.
