Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer Hot Toys has followed up its release of the villainous Green Goblin from "Spider-Man: No Way Home" with another highly anticipated announcement today: the Doc Ock 1/6 scale collectible figure! Both a regular and a deluxe version will be released simultaneously, and this article will focus on the details of the regular edition.
Standing approximately 31.5 cm tall with 30 points of articulation, this figure meticulously recreates Doc Ock as he appeared in 2004's "Spider-Man 2" and again in "Spider-Man: No Way Home." His iconic costume, featuring a black turtleneck, a leather-textured brown trench coat, and a dark green long jacket, along with a waist belt intricately sculpted with mechanical textures, has been faithfully reproduced. The head sculpt of actor Alfred Molina allows for the sunglasses to be freely removed and worn. While the official images show a confident, almost smug smile with the sunglasses on, the expression without them is, in my personal opinion, a bit subtle.
Next, let's turn our attention to Doc Ock's highly imposing and menacing tentacles! The four mechanical arms not only convey a heavy metallic feel but also feature bendable wires internally, allowing for various dynamic poses. Each mechanical claw boasts three points of articulation and can be fitted with sharp spear-like attachments, perfectly capturing an imminent combat stance!
