Hey everyone!
Today, I want to share an unboxing of the S.H.Figuarts Iron Man (TECH-ON AVENGERS), designed by Eiichi Shimizu, the acclaimed creator behind the "Ultraman Suit" manga. First off, while this figure is branded S.H.Figuarts, it feels completely different from a typical S.H.Figuarts release. It's more akin to a Metal Robot Spirits figure, primarily because its design is incredibly mechanical, with no organic body parts or human-like proportions. Plus, some of its internal frame components are made of metal.
Aesthetically, it boasts a very Japanese design, especially evident in the intricate detailing, weapon designs, and the "armor purge" features that have become popular in recent years. The figure primarily features two forms: the standard form and the DH-10 mode (enhanced equipment), which you can swap between based on your preference.
The included accessories are mainly for swapping between forms and various effect parts. Personally, I'm a big fan of the chest effect part used in DH-10 mode; it looks incredibly cool. Compared to the chest effect, the shooting effect part feels a bit... underwhelming. Articulation is decent, but as for QC (Quality Control), my unit already had a few paint chips right out of the box. Overall, it's a pretty unique and decent figure. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they release in this line.
