LEGO's popular Architecture series has unveiled its latest set, the "21058 Great Pyramid of Giza", based on one of the Seven Wonders of the World! This impressive build is scheduled for release on August 1, 2022.

The Giza pyramid complex, situated on the Giza plateau near Cairo, Egypt, is primarily composed of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, alongside several smaller pyramids and the iconic Great Sphinx. This time, LEGO's 21058 set focuses on the oldest of these, the Great Pyramid of Giza, featuring 1,476 pieces. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 20 cm tall and measures 35 cm long, recreating the ancient Egyptian landscape along the Nile River in stunning micro-scale! Beyond the striking Great Pyramid itself, the set also includes two smaller pyramids, two temples, a miniature Sphinx, two Egyptian Felucca sailboats, an obelisk, and a tiny worker minifigure.

A major highlight of this set is its interactive design, allowing builders to lift off the outer layer of the Great Pyramid. This reveals the internal stone-moving system that might have been employed during its construction. Turning the model around, you can also explore the main passages and chambers on the back, promising an excellent and educational building experience! Of course, many LEGO fans will undoubtedly find it a bit disappointing that this pyramid is only a half-build. However, official images released by LEGO do showcase a scenario where two 21058 sets are combined to form a complete pyramid. This offers flexibility depending on individual collectors' preferences! From another perspective, a half-pyramid is perfectly suited for display against a wall. But if you have the budget and the space, don't hesitate to grab two sets to fully and magnificently recreate the Great Pyramid!
