Megahouse, a Japanese model manufacturer, today announced the latest product from its large-scale light-up statue "Ultimate Article" series, the "Ultimate Article Ultraman" from the movie "Shin Ultraman", slated for release in October 2022.
The Ultraman appearing in "Shin Ultraman" is based on the "Incarnation of Truth and Justice" concept drawn by the late Toru Narita, the original Ultraman designer. Elements such as the "color timer," "actor's peeking holes below the eyes," and "fin-like design created by the back zipper" found on traditional tokusatsu suits are absent. Instead, CG technology is extensively used to faithfully recreate Narita's design of a slender-limbed, elegantly streamlined form.
The "Ultimate Article Ultraman" stands at an imposing 40 cm tall, capturing the colossal figure created with CG technology in the film. It meticulously recreates the sleek, elongated physique with subtle muscle definition, inherits the asymmetrical head sculpt from Toru Narita's original prototype, and is finished with a highly reflective matte silver paint application.
Through interchangeable parts, Ultraman can be posed in a battle-ready stance or his iconic "Specium Ray" attack pose. The base not only allows for attaching the work's title logo and the S-Class Species Suppression Protocol (SSSP) emblem but also incorporates rich light and sound effects. Switching between Mode 1 and Mode 2 activates the glowing eyes and plays in-show sound effects for transformation, ray attacks, and flight!
