Hong Kong toy company Storm Collectibles, known for releasing numerous articulated action figures of fighting game characters, not only covers Japanese fighting games like Street Fighter and The King of Fighters, but also embraces American fighting games. The most famous representative of American fighting games is undoubtedly the ultra-bloody Mortal Kombat series. This time, they are releasing one of its main characters, "Liu Kang"! Expected to be released in the first quarter of 2023.
Liu Kang is one of the main characters in Mortal Kombat, appearing in every installment of the series. He is a Shaolin monk and one of Earthrealm's strongest warriors, possessing exceptional martial arts skills, having defeated countless opponents and won the Mortal Kombat tournament multiple times. Liu Kang's initial appearance was primarily inspired by Bruce Lee, featuring a bare torso, black trousers, white athletic shoes, and no head accessories. Later, starting from Mortal Kombat II, his look evolved to long hair tied with a headband, red and black tight-fitting trousers, and accessories like arm guards.
This Liu Kang figure by Storm Collectibles maintains the series' consistent 1/12 scale. It includes three interchangeable facial expressions and five sets of interchangeable hand parts. For effect accessories, there is a fire-breathing effect piece. Another most striking feature is Liu Kang's transformation into a giant dragon, which has also been materialized and included with this product, allowing collectors to recreate scenes of Liu Kang in both his human and dragon forms.
