Japanese company BROCCOLI (株式会社ブロッコリー) is scheduled to release a 1/7 scale PVC figure of "Ruka Sarashina," one of the many heroines from the currently serialized popular work "Rent-A-Girlfriend," in February 2023!
"Rent-A-Girlfriend" (彼女、お借りします) is a work created by manga artist Reiji Miyajima, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" starting in 2017, with its second anime season set to air in July 2022. The story follows protagonist Kazuya Kinoshita, who, heartbroken after breaking up with his girlfriend Mami after only a month, uses an "online girlfriend rental" service. The person who appears before him is a stunningly beautiful girl—Chizuru Mizuhara—making him fall in love at first sight. However, a series of coincidences, coupled with the appearance of his manipulative ex-girlfriend Mami and the one-sidedly infatuated beautiful girl Ruka Sarashina, lead this group into many seemingly ambiguous interactions and unexpected situations.
In the story, Ruka Sarashina is another main female character with screen time second only to Chizuru Mizuhara. Although she is 18 years old, she suffers from arrhythmia. To find someone who can make her heart race, she became a "rental girlfriend." After meeting Kazuya, she experienced that heart-racing feeling for the first time and began to boldly express her love for him, often declaring her status as Kazuya's "official girlfriend" in front of Chizuru (though deep down she knows Kazuya prefers Chizuru). She is currently entangled in a complex relationship with Kazuya, Chizuru, and his ex-girlfriend Mami.
This Ruka Sarashina figure, released by BROCCOLI, stands approximately 23 cm tall. It is sculpted based on Ruka Sarashina in her high school uniform. Little Ruka, always with a bow in her hair, exudes the vibrant and uninhibited aura of a high school girl. Her excellent physique is even more prominent beneath the uniform and short skirt. The various small ornaments attached to her school bag have all been meticulously recreated. She holds a phone displaying her heartbeat in her hand, her face beaming with joy.
