Japanese figure manufacturer Sentinel's popular die-cast action figure series, 『RIOBOT』, today announced the latest product from the manga "Linebarrels of Iron," the "LINEBARREL AMAGATSU," scheduled for release in August 2023.
The giant robot LINEBARREL is a "MACHINA" piloted by protagonist Kouichi Hayase in the manga "Linebarrels of Iron" by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi. It is the unexpected 12th "anti-MACHINA unit" among the 11 existing MACHINA in the story. Its background is shrouded in mystery, and its performance surpasses other MACHINA. This release, LINEBARREL AMAGATSU, represents the "true form of LINEBARREL" when piloted by Amagatsu Kanzaki, the father of the heroine Emi and LINEBARREL's true pilot, with its entire armor displaying a jet-black color scheme.
The "RIOBOT LINEBARREL AMAGATSU" is a modified version of the previously released standard edition. Its design has been thoroughly supervised by original author Eiichi Shimizu. Constructed from composite materials such as ABS, PVC, PA, and die-cast parts, it boasts a substantial weight when handled. It meticulously recreates the sharp exterior armor design, intricate internal frame, and heat vent details from the original work, incorporating Sentinel's cultivated articulation technology, including fully articulated fingers.
AMAGATSU features a red and black color scheme for its exterior armor and weaponry. The black sections are not monotonous; instead, they showcase varying levels of gloss and texture through the use of both glossy and matte parts. The included waterslide decals allow for the recreation of the unit's markings. For weaponry, it comes with its signature twin katanas, enabling dynamic dual-wielding slashing poses thanks to its flexible articulation. The long-range beam weapon, "Executor," connects via a soft material energy cable and can be stored in the tail stabilizer. By swapping head parts and deploying the flight unit, shoulder, and wrist armor, the "Over Ride" form, revealing its third eye, can be recreated!
