Japanese figure manufacturer Sentinel today announced the latest product from the manga "Linebarrels of Iron," the "LINEBARREL OVERLORD," from its popular die-cast action figure series "RIOBOT," scheduled for release in July 2023.
The giant robot LINEBARREL is a "MACHINA" piloted by protagonist Kouichi Hayase in the manga "Linebarrels of Iron" by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi. It is the unexpected 12th "anti-MACHINA unit" among the 11 existing MACHINA in the story. Its background is shrouded in mystery, and its performance surpasses that of other MACHINA. This release, the LINEBARREL OVERLORD, is the assimilated form of Kouichi Hayase and LINEBARREL after he becomes its true pilot. With a generator unit designed for the final battle, its output is forcibly boosted significantly, causing its entire armor to display a vibrant crimson hue and enabling overwhelming ultra-high-speed movement.
The "RIOBOT LINEBARREL OVERLORD" is a modification of the previously released regular version. Its design has been thoroughly supervised by original author Eiichi Shimizu. Made from composite materials such as ABS, PVC, PA, and die-cast, it possesses a substantial weight when handled. It largely reproduces the sharp exterior armor design, intricate internal frame, and heat sink details from the original work, and incorporates Sentinel's cultivated articulation technology, including fully articulated fingers.
The OVERLORD version uses various shades of red, including metallic red and pearl red, to create a vibrant crimson color that exudes power and a premium feel. This ensures the sharp armor does not appear overly smooth. Additionally, newly produced fabric cape parts are included. The cape has an internal bendable wire, allowing it to be posed dynamically to match various stances. For weaponry, it comes with its signature two katanas, which can be wielded in powerful dual-wielding slashing poses thanks to the flexible articulation. The long-range beam weapon "Executor" connects via a soft material energy cable and can be stored in the tail stabilizer.
