BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, from Japan, which issues the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series combining exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, recently announced information for the latest limited-edition product from the movie "Godzilla vs. Kong", the "S.H.MonsterArts Kong (2021) SDCC Exclusive Edition". It will be sold exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con, held from July 21-24, 2022, US time.
This product transforms Kong, who appeared in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse in the 2021 film "Godzilla vs. Kong" and grew to a height of 102 meters, into a highly articulated model with an outstanding design. In addition to faithfully recreating Kong's furry appearance and muscular physique, precise part segmentation and articulation design ensure the model possesses both sculptural integrity and flexible joints, allowing for dynamic battle poses from the film.
Compared to the regular edition released in 2021, the SDCC Exclusive Edition is based on Kong's appearance in the latter half of the film, utilizing new parts and paint colors to recreate the scars on Kong's head, chest, and various parts of his body, faithfully depicting his battle-worn and scarred look after numerous fights.
In terms of accessories, in addition to the regular edition's existing open-mouth interchangeable expression and 3 pairs of sculpted hands, this edition also includes a fierce, teeth-gritting expression, a battle axe charged after absorbing Godzilla's atomic breath, three H.E.A.V. anti-gravity vehicles with a dedicated display stand, and a Mechagodzilla head. This allows Kong to wield an even more powerful charged battle axe than the regular version and recreate the iconic scene at the end of the film where he tears off Mechagodzilla's head!
