Japanese high-end statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio's "Premium Masterline (プレミアムマスターライン)" series recently unveiled its latest "The Lord of the Rings" themed product: the "Witch-king of Angmar" (Witch-king) 1/4 scale full body statue! Both a Regular Version and an Ultimate Version will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date between October 2023 and January 2024.
The Witch-king of Angmar has no true name, only many terrifying titles and legends. He is also known as "Lord of the Nazgûl" and "Lord of Morgul." He is Sauron's strongest servant, and it was he who wounded Frodo with a Morgul-blade at Weathertop in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." His appearance riding a "Fellbeast" is truly terrifying and imposing! In the film, even Gandalf the White struggled against him, with Gandalf's staff being instantly shattered by the Witch-king. However, during the battle for Minas Tirith, the Witch-king was miraculously defeated by the combined efforts of Merry and Éowyn.
This piece stands approximately 70 cm tall, bringing the "Witch-king of Angmar" to life in a commanding pose, wielding a sword in his right hand and a flail in his left. His upright stance, combined with his signature helmet, spiked armor, and tattered garments sculpted with a realistic flowing effect, exudes an unstoppable, formidable presence. The base, themed after the Pelennor Fields, incorporates various in-story elements such as a broken staff, a Rohan banner, Elven arrows, and a section of the Barad-dûr fortress wall from Mordor, conveying the intensity of the war while immersing collectors in the world of "The Lord of the Rings."
In the "Witch-king of Angmar Ultimate Version," released simultaneously, the base directly features a Fellbeast wearing a helmet. Its powerful physique and massive wings add even greater impact to this statue!
