BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan, known for its most diverse lineup of 1/144 scale Gunpla, the "HG (High Grade)" series, today announced product information for its latest item from "Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury": "HG 1/144 Demi Trainer (Chuchu's Custom)", scheduled for release on November 05, 2022.
The "Demi Trainer (Chuchu's Custom)" is a mobile suit piloted by Chuchu Panlunch, a pilot course student from Earth House. It was custom-built for her by Nika Nanaura, a mechanical engineering senior also from Earth House, by modifying an older generation model, the Demi Trainer. The overall armor design is relatively lightweight, with a precision shooting camera and communication antenna added to the head. It is equipped with a large sniper beam rifle, powered by its backpack, making it Nika's proudest creation.
The HG 1/144 Demi Trainer (Chuchu's Custom) is based on a modified standard kit, with largely similar articulation. The pull-out shoulder joints and forearm rotation mechanisms significantly enhance arm mobility, while the neck and waist articulation allow the upper body to tilt significantly forward and backward. Numerous new parts and molded colors reproduce the characteristic military green lightweight armor design and the high-precision head camera.
The most distinctive weapon, the large sniper beam rifle, is similar in size to the main unit. The rotatable auxiliary arm on the front skirt armor can be used to suspend the rifle and can be rotated into a firing position at any time. An included metal wire represents the power cable connecting the backpack to the rifle. Additionally, the small thrusters on both sides of the legs can slide up and down and rotate to change thrust direction.
