First Time Creating a Figure? Design Your Own Character for a Competition!

Having previously assisted other designers with the production process of soft vinyl figures, this time we decided to challenge ourselves to create our own character. Coincidentally, after recently finishing the Korean fantasy novel "Welcome to the Dream Department Store," I was deeply moved by its world-building. The Night-Glow Beasts scurrying everywhere, without any visual description, could only be imagined in my mind. This sparked an idea, leading to the drawing of the big, chubby, soft, fluffy, and seemingly very huggable above.

Next, I opened the 3D modeling software and began sculpting~

Experimenting with various tail combinations

Finally, the parts were separated and printed using a resin 3D printer!!

Followed by endless sanding to remove print layers, pixel textures, support points, holes, flaws, and so on.

Every day after work was a non-stop cycle of spraying primer, applying putty, sanding, and then spraying primer again for inspection – day and night without end.

The next step was coloring~

But just then, we saw a toy design competition. We rushed to complete it to this stage, without time for coloring. Please look forward to our next submission post~

Additionally, this character is named "Ho-Hum," which is the sound of a yawn~

Finally, here's another version I couldn't resist making: a mode where it's lying down, completely asleep.
