Hong Kong toy company Storm Collectibles, known for releasing numerous action figures based on video games, is set to release "Getsu Rando", one of the BOSS characters from KONAMI's action game "GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon", in the first quarter of 2023!
"GetsuFumaDen" (月風魔伝) is a classic action RPG game released by KONAMI in 1987 on the Nintendo Famicom. Its unique overworld map mode, which transitions into traditional 2D side-scrolling stages, combined with RPG elements like earning experience and money, and characters and backgrounds inspired by traditional Japanese yokai stories, along with special 3D mazes and giant BOSS battles, captivated players at the time.
For many years, numerous players hoped for a sequel to "GetsuFumaDen," but unfortunately, nothing materialized. Finally, 35 years later, on February 17, 2022, KONAMI collaborated with game company GuruGuru to release "GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon". This 2D action game incorporates roguelike elements and continues the original world view. It tells the story of "Ryukotsuki," who was defeated and sealed by Fuma, the youngest of the Getsu clan's three brothers. After a thousand years, Ryukotsuki resurrects from hell, and Getsu Fuma, the 27th head of the Getsu clan, resolves to descend into hell once more to defeat Ryukotsuki. Getsu Rando is the elder brother of the protagonist, Getsu Fuma, who also ventured into hell to protect the clan but subsequently went missing. He appears as a BOSS in the game.
