Japanese model manufacturer UNION CREATIVE exhibited an unpainted prototype of their latest work, "EVANGELION Unit-01 VS Unit-13 (Provisional Name)," which recreates a famous scene from "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," at Japan's largest model exhibition, Wonder Festival 2022 [Summer], held on the 24th of this month. The release date is yet to be determined.
This piece recreates a renowned scene from "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time": Shinji Ikari's Unit-01 wielding the Spear of Cassius against Gendo Ikari's Unit-13 wielding the Spear of Longinus. In terms of styling, the EVANGELIONs' physiques and proportions are closer to the human body, with realistic muscle lines sculpted to contrast with the flatter armor (restraints). The dynamic, explosive poses convey the intense, imminent clash between the two units.
The diorama base features a rich array of objects such as high-rise buildings, houses, ruins, and cars. Particularly in the damaged and ruined sections, intricate details like bricks, tiles, and rebar are meticulously sculpted, significantly enhancing the visual appeal of the piece. While information regarding sales format and price has not yet been announced, a dividing line can be observed in the middle of the base. Considering the work's size and volume, it is highly probable that it will be released as two separate products: Unit-01 and Unit-13.
