Today, the TAMASHII NATIONS Collectors Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company announced that the latest product from the 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed action figures, the "Psycho Zaku Test Type" from "Mobile Suit Gundam MSV", is scheduled for release in January 2023.
The MS-06Z Psycho Zaku Test Type was a mobile suit built by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War, based on the MS-06F Zaku II hardware and incorporating test data from the MAN-03 Braw Bro MA, a psycho-communicator system test unit. As a Newtype-exclusive mobile suit, this unit not only had generators and engines added to various parts of its body, but also allowed Newtype pilots to remotely control its wired 5-barrel MEGA Particle Cannons on both arms via the psycho-communicator system. This technology was continuously refined and inherited by later developed units such as the High Mobility Type Zaku and Zeong.
Parts of the "ROBOT魂 Psycho Zaku Test Type ver. A.N.I.M.E." are reused from the previously released High Mobility Type Zaku, perfectly reproducing the dark green paint scheme and abundant body markings from the design sketches. For articulation, designs such as the two-axis movable waist joint, segmented skirt armor parts with internal articulation mechanisms, and slightly adjustable feet and power pipes, all contribute to a highly flexible range of motion.
Accessories include a set of thruster jet effects, a set of MEGA Particle Cannon effects, bendable wrist cables, and arm parts in firing mode. When combined with the main body, these can recreate the thruster jet states from multiple locations such as the back, chest, crotch, and legs, as well as the remote control and beam firing states of the twin 5-barrel MEGA Particle Cannons!
