Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, developer of the highly customizable 1/24 scale original plastic model kit series "HEXA GEAR," recently officially announced its latest products, "Governor Heavy Armor Type: Rook Standard Type" and "Governor Heavy Armor Type: Rook Lefty Type," scheduled for release in December 2022.
Governor Heavy Armor Type: Rook is set as a new type of reinforced armor used by the Governors of the Liberty Alliance. Its appearance is inspired by the chess piece Rook, possessing a larger physique and thicker limbs than the PAWN A1 type. Its arms feature an asymmetrical design, with the right arm being significantly larger than the left, and its hand parts are fully articulated. The back is equipped with three large thruster nozzles, which, in addition to compensating for the bulky body's lack of mobility, can also deliver devastating blows to enemies with its massive thrust combined with its giant fist.
The "HEXA GEAR Governor Heavy Armor Type: Rook Standard Type" uses white, gunmetal, and clear orange molded parts to create its heavy armor. The sensor part on the left side of the head is pre-painted. Standing at a massive 105mm tall, it is larger than a typical Governor, and its robust physique is sculpted to resemble human muscles. All joints feature flexible articulation: the neck has a triple articulated axis, the waist features a pull-out structure, the shoulder joints can swing forward, and both elbows and knees are double-jointed. The distinctive giant right arm's hand features fully articulated fingers, allowing for expressive poses and various battle scenes through subtle finger movements.
Accessories include 6 pairs of interchangeable hand parts, four thruster ignition effect parts for the legs, and left/right interchangeable parts for the giant arm, allowing you to freely choose which side to attach the giant arm. Numerous 3mm universal connection points are located throughout the body, enabling free customization with separately sold HEXA GEAR, M.S.G, Frame Arms Girl, and other Kotobukiya plastic model kits!
In addition, Kotobukiya also simultaneously announced the KOTOBUKIYA SHOP exclusive "HEXA GEAR Governor Heavy Armor Type: Rook Lefty Type (LEFTY)." The kit contents are essentially the same as the standard type; the difference lies in the reversed position of the head sensor. The molded colors have also been changed to black, blue-gray, and clear orange, allowing for assembling a mysterious black version. If both the standard type and the lefty type are purchased simultaneously at KOTOBUKIYA SHOP, customers will also receive a bonus set of "Armor Parts" molded in deep purple.
