MAX FACTORY, a Japanese toy company, has announced the latest product from the sci-fi robot anime "Aim for the Top! Gunbuster" under their "PLAMAX" model kit brand, which encompasses a rich variety of themes including beautiful girls, figures, and robots: the "minimum factory Gunbuster Super Inazuma Kick / RX-7 Inazuma Kick" model kits! Both "Buster Machine Color" and "Effect Color" versions will be released simultaneously, scheduled for January 2023.
The setting of "Aim for the Top! Gunbuster" is the 21st century, where human technology has advanced to the point of exploring the universe with massive warp battleships. However, Earth civilization is simultaneously under severe threat from the "Space Terrible Monster Crowd". The protagonist, Noriko Takaya, is a student at Okinawa Girls' Space High School, striving to pilot humanoid mecha and venture into space. Later, in the cosmos that has become a fierce battlefield, she pilots humanity's last resort, the giant robot "Gunbuster", to fight against the Space Monsters, shouldering the future of humanity alongside her senior, Kazumi Amano.
These model kits include "Gunbuster" performing its iconic special move, the Super Inazuma Kick, and "RX-7" Inazuma Kick, recreating the duel scene between Reiko Kashiwara and Noriko. In a mini size of approximately 7 cm, they faithfully reproduce the captivating mechanical details and dynamic, powerful poses. The "Buster Machine Color" uses the main color schemes of each unit as their molded colors, while the "Effect Color" offers a more vibrant and striking color expression.
