The assembly model 'MODEROID' series, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product from 'Patlabor', the "Ingram Reactive Armor", scheduled for release in January 2023.
The "Ingram Reactive Armor" appeared in 'Patlabor 2: The Movie'. It was developed by Special Vehicles Section 2 for the 2nd Division's assault on a terrorist stronghold, repurposing JSDF airborne LABOR equipment. It equips the Ingram with bulletproof armor resembling an overcoat, featuring numerous explosive reactive armor panels on its surface.
The "MODEROID Ingram Reactive Armor" is constructed using some parts from the standard Ingram model and many new parts. It thoroughly reproduces the heavy reactive armor, and also includes different head sculpts for Units 1-3 and waterslide decals for their body markings, allowing for free selection to assemble each unit's appearance. By swapping parts, the electronic warfare equipment "ECM Missile Pod" can be deployed, and Unit 1's head can be fitted with a main camera protective visor. Paired with included weapons such as the revolver, stun stick (long/short), and riot shotgun, various battle scenes can be recreated.
The product also includes chest parts without the Rising Sun emblem police badge and shoulder parts without patrol lights. By swapping these, the "Ingram Basic Body" state for Units 1-3 can be reproduced. Furthermore, a BONUS accessory, the "WXIII Specification Glove Parts", is included. When combined with a separately sold standard Ingram and the head parts included in this kit, the appearance of Units 1 and 2 as seen in the third theatrical film can be recreated!
