Hong Kong toy brand threezero's robot alloy action figure series 'ROBO-DOU' recently officially announced the latest product from 'Mobile Police', the "TYPE-J9 Griffon", scheduled for release in Q4 2023.
The TYPE-J9 Griffon is an experimental combat Labor secretly developed by SEJ Tsuchiura Research Institute with the goal of creating the "Strongest Labor". Its most distinctive external features are its jet-black body and massive head horns. Developed without regard for cost, this unit saw immense resources invested in its creation, showcasing the most superior technological prowess. Both its power and athletic performance surpass standard units like the Ingram. Its back can be fitted with a "Flight Unit" for brief aerial maneuvers and a "Submersible Unit" for underwater operations. The OS also employs a unique, highly efficient system called "ASURA," granting it movements as agile as a living creature.
The "ROBO-DOU TYPE-J9 Griffon" is crafted in 1/35 scale, featuring over 60 points of articulation within its approximately 24.4 cm height. It is constructed from ABS, PVC, POM, and die-cast alloy parts, faithfully recreating the sharp and cool head design by mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi, along with its refined, smooth armor lines. The enclosed structures of each joint are covered with weathered fabric.
Each joint features flexible articulation, and the signature massive twin wings are individually equipped with four articulation points. This allows for dynamic combat poses when combined with various interchangeable hand parts, recreating its overwhelming combat power demonstrated through close-quarters combat in the series. Furthermore, by opening the chest armor and pulling up the neck base, the full cockpit can be revealed, allowing the included pilot Bud figure to be placed inside.
