LEGO's Advent Calendar theme series, which features the gameplay of "opening a small model or LEGO minifigure each day," unveiled its latest product from Star Wars yesterday (the 1st): "75340 Star Wars Advent Calendar"! It is scheduled for release on September 1, 2022.
The "Advent Calendar," best saved for a gradual reveal starting in December each year, not only allows collectors to acquire special holiday-themed minifigures, but the mini-models assembled from a few parts often feature surprisingly clever designs. This time, the 75340, designed with a Star Wars theme, boasts a truly impressive lineup of minifigures, including Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, C-3PO, a Battle Droid, an Imperial Snowtrooper, and a Clone Commander. The Christmas sweater-clad R2 and 3PO are incredibly cute, even featuring each other's portraits, and Lord Vader faithfully recreates his relaxed look from "LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation," making this an absolute must-have.
The mini-models and vehicles are also excellent, including a Santa-dressed Gonk Droid (GNK Power Droid), Clone Force 99's shuttle, a Republic Gunship, Luke's Landspeeder, a V-35 Landspeeder, a B-wing Starfighter, a TIE Interceptor, the common Tatooine irrigation facility Moisture Vaporator, the Hoth Rebel turret, and the Wampa's cave... etc. Although the Wampa's cave is small, you can still hang Luke upside down in it, which is super fun! A definite buy.
