PLEX Co., Ltd. of Japan, in collaboration with X-PLUS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest addition to their "Toho Large Monsters Series" of soft vinyl monster figures, based on Toho's cinematic kaiju. The new product, "Godzilla ULTIMA" from the anime "Godzilla Singular Point," is scheduled for release in May 2023. This product will be available in a general retail version and a limited edition sold exclusively at Shonen RIC and GODZILLA STORE.
The Godzilla featured in the completely new anime "Godzilla Singular Point" was designed by animator Eiji Yamamori, who created a fresh style based on the original 1954 Godzilla design. In the series, Godzilla is depicted in ancient Japanese ukiyo-e prints, with the kanji "古史羅" (Goshira). It possesses the ability to manipulate its own evolving DNA and has appeared in four different forms. The fourth form, "Godzilla ULTIMA," is the closest in appearance to previous generations of Godzilla. It can emit a devastating atomic breath from its mouth, surrounded by a halo of light, instantly destroying Tokyo's skyscrapers and engulfing them in flames. It can also generate and spread red dust, invading areas and reconstructing entirely new ecosystems.
The "Toho Large Monsters Godzilla ULTIMA" boasts an impressive size, with an overall height of approximately 30 cm and an overall length of approximately 59 cm. It not only faithfully recreates its extremely thick lower body and super-long tail but also meticulously sculpts the interior of its mouth with multiple rows of sharp teeth, the neatly arranged layers of its rough outer skin, and its leaf-shaped dorsal fins with visible red veins. Posed with its massive tail swinging and its blood-red mouth wide open in a roar, it embodies Godzilla ULTIMA's powerful and ferocious image.
The limited edition, furthermore, features an internal LED light-up mechanism. When activated, the mouth and dorsal fins emit a blue glow, recreating the scene where its dorsal fins illuminate just before it unleashes its atomic breath!
