Japan's Bandai Spirits will release a highly anticipated new product based on the TV anime "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters"—the "Millennium Puzzle COMPLETE EDITION" owned by protagonist Yugi Muto, making its debut as a complete version equipped with LED light effects and in-show sound effects! The suggested retail price is 8,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in July 2023.
In "Yu-Gi-Oh!", the "Millennium Puzzle" is a Millennium Item received by protagonist Yugi Muto from his grandfather Sugoroku Muto. In its lore, it is an extremely complex three-dimensional puzzle, almost impossible for ordinary humans to complete; even Yugi took 8 years to finish it. After he completed the Millennium Puzzle, the soul of the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Atem, residing within the puzzle, entered his body, becoming known as "Dark Yugi." Yugi can switch between these two distinct personalities through the Millennium Puzzle.
The "Millennium Puzzle COMPLETE EDITION" adopts a brand-new SIS (Super Interactive System) to recreate the famous scene where protagonist Yugi transforms into Dark Yugi. After inserting the final Millennium Puzzle piece, the LED light effect will activate, emitting a sacred glow from the puzzle's crevices! The exterior is electroplated using "vacuum deposition gold plating" technology, giving it a magnificent golden appearance. Combined with the lighting effect, it perfectly reproduces the golden radiance seen in the show!
Additionally, it includes sound effects for transforming into Dark Yugi, the anime background music "Passionate Duelists (熱き決闘者)", and the anime opening theme song "Voice," creating an immersive dueling experience from the show! It also comes with a dedicated leather cord (1.3m long), allowing you to wear it around your neck to emulate Yugi's early anime style of carrying the Millennium Puzzle with him. It can also be displayed on its dedicated stand, enjoyed purely as a glowing night light and music player.
