The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury," the "HG 1/144 Gundvolva," from its 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release on June 10, 2023.
The EDNM-GB Gundvolva is a mobile suit-type GUND sub-unit utilized by the anti-spacian organization "Dawn of Fold," equipped by Gundam Ur and Gundam Thorn. It possesses the same structure and size as a standard mobile suit and is armed with combat-spec armaments such as a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. Through the GUND System installed in its cockpit, the mother unit can activate the Permet Score to link with and control multiple Gundvolvas simultaneously.
The "HG 1/144 Gundvolva" utilizes multi-color molding to recreate the design by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase. Stickers can be used to reproduce the characteristic glowing red parts of the GUND System on its chest. Its subdued color scheme features a sophisticated, easy-to-assemble construction and flexible articulation. The neck and waist utilize ball joints for forward and backward bending, and the side skirts can expand outwards to ensure a wide range of waist articulation. Armaments include a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. The magazine and two beam saber hilts can be stored inside the shield, while the beam rifle can be mounted on the side armor of the knee.
